- This video opens with a child interviewing E. Randel T. Osburn about the purpose and work of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and immediately follows with some candid footage of employees in the SCLC headquarters office preparing for the 40th anniversary SCLC convention. The video then transitions to two separate news conferences with SCLC members, the second with just SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery speaking to the press, in which he outlines the events to happen at the 40th Annual SCLC Convention. Topics discussed in the press conferences include police brutality, tracking in schools, and welfare reform. The remainder of the video includes footage of events from the 40th Annual SCLC Convention, including a tribute event to President Joseph E. Lowery marking his retirement from SCLC leadership and speakers discussing the issue of tracking and racial inequities in education.
