Description:: This audio recording features a church service at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The service proceedings include songs, prayer service, a scripture lesson, and a sermon delivered by Joseph E. Lowery (begins speaking at 00:41:44) centered around the topic of "The Deep and the Shallow". In his sermon, Lowery discusses a recent trip he took to Bermuda in which he chartered a boat to go fishing in deep waters so as to catch a big fish. He analogizes this story to the idea of the shallow and the deep in a Christian sense, i.e., if you limit your faith to the shallows, you only reap the tidbits. To get to the depths of faith, you must be prepared to launch into the deep.
