- This audio recording features part two of the proceedings of the 7th Annual SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Oratorical Contest. SCLC/W.O.M.E.N.'s Annual Oratorical Contest is an event in which youth give speeches about a given topic/theme. The purpose of the contest is to promote speaking ability and participation in discussion regarding issues affecting youth. The theme for the contest is "Fighting Apartheid in South Africa and the Apartheid Mentality in the US". The recording also contains musical performances and the closing ceremonies in which Joseph E. Lowery speaks (at 00:10:42) and contestant winners are announced.
