- This audio recording features an interview with Southern Christian Leadership Conference President Joseph E. Lowery in Nicaragua in which Lowery answers questions related to the United States and Nicaraguan foreign policy relationship. In the recording, Lowery is heard to speak and then a translator repeats his replies in Spanish. Lowery answers questions related to the United States' funding of the Contras and comments on the court case of Eugene Hasenfus. The audio cuts off and switches at 00:18:50 to a recording of Lowery in conversation with unidentified individuals in which he speaks more about U.S. and Nicaraguan relations. They discuss the rights and status of Black people in Nicaragua.
