- Description:
- This video features footage of various scheduled events that are part of the SCLC/W.O.M.E.N.'s Civil Rights Heritage Tour on March 6-7, 1999. The video begins with footage on the tour bus in which a prayer is delivered and Tyrone Brooks speaks about the importance of civil rights history. An event at Sardis Baptist Church is followed by footage of a visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and Kelly Ingram Park. Throughout the video there is commentary by Evelyn G. Lowery and others as they ride on the bus. The tour group also visits the historical marker for Jimmie Lee Jackson and Jackson's gravesite in Marion, Alabama. The video concludes with footage of a visit to the National Voting Rights Museum and Institute in Selma, Alabama.
