- This video features discussions held at the Southeast Region Voter Empowerment Summit in Birmingham, Alabama on August 8-9, 2003. Joseph E. Lowery, chair of the Georgia Coalition for the Peoples' Agenda, delivers the keynote address in which he criticizes George W. Bush's administration. Other discussions at the summit focuses around the topics of extension of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, Black voter registration, redistricting and election reform, and immigration issues.
