- This video features an event at St. Luke Community United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas as well as video of speakers at a breakfast forum. Both events are part of the 37th Annual Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Convention and took place on August 16 and August 17, 1994, respectively. Walter Fauntroy emcees the church event and speakers include Reverend Zan Holmes, Johnnie Carr, S.L. Harvey, Curtis W. Harris, and John Nettles. SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery then delivers his presidential address. Lowery speaks around the theme of African Americans acting as "the midwives to a new order" in the 1990s. The SCLC breakfast forum includes E. Randel T. Osburn recognizing SCLC chapters and Evelyn G. Lowery, Flonzie Brown-Wright, Gayle Watts-Wiggins, and others speaking about SCLC/W.O.M.E.N.'s AIDS project work.
