- In this interview, Ethel Reeves briefly outlines the work she's done over the course of her life. Her father was a sharecropper, but once she married, she and her husband decided to quit farming. They moved to Birmingham, where she had a job in a doctor's office and then worked as a practical nurse, and LPN, until she retired in the late sixties. In addition, she worked for a time as a nurse for whites as a child.
