- Description:
- Representative Alvin Holmes speaking to reporters about his request that the Montgomery City - County Personnel Department set aside the pending appointment of Colonel David Stockman to the position of county administrator and consider hiring an African American instead. He charges that the position was not properly advertised and that Stockman (who would soon be retiring from Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base) was not qualified for the job. He also expresses his intention to ask Judge Frank Johnson to intervene in the matter if the personnel board does not comply with his request.
