- Sallie M. Hadnott, a local civil rights activist, attended the meeting, and Norman Lumpkin spoke. Lumpkin was news director for WRMA, an African American radio station in Montgomery, Alabama. A photograph taken during the meeting appeared on page 1 of The Southern Courier for April 30-May 1, 1966.
