- Students will use excerpts from President John F. Kennedy's 1961 speech and will discuss his reasons for a space program. Students will discuss the importance of building a safe and appropriate space rocket (shuttle). The interview from Buzz Aldrin and history about the Space Shuttle Challenger will help to illustrate the importance. Students will then launch their own rockets.
