- The teacher will introduce the lesson with the question, "How many of you know the story of Rosa Parks?" Students will engage in a class discussion of prior knowledge of Rosa Parks. The teacher will introduce a young girl that faced the same problems as Rosa Parks, only she was arrested nine months before Ms. Parks. Students will view the videos of interviews Claudette Colvin gave and articles written about her. Students will complete the annotating primary sources activity on her arrest record. They will then complete the integrated bus suggestion exit ticket.
