- Description:
- This lesson integrates events in America and Alabama during World War I with current events. Students will be exposed to primary source documents that introduce them to Alabama’s influenza epidemic during the late stages of the war. After viewing and discussing these resources students will be able to compare and contrast the disease outbreaks of the past with those of today. This lesson will help students to understand how disease and war effect geographic areas in which they occur and their impacts on the people involved at the time.
