- The march possibly took place on January 12 or 13. One of the young women is holding a sign that reads, "My Life Isn't Worth This Sign Unless Negroes Register Now." The 1965-1966 Birmingham voter registration campaign advocated for increased registration hours at the county courthouse and registration in local neighborhoods.
