(This photograph was collected during an investigation conducted by the Alabama Legislative Commission to Preserve the Peace, which was established by an act on May 21, 1963: "Said joint legislative committee is hereby authorized and empowered to study, investigate, analyze and interrogate persons, groups and organizations who may be engaged in activities of an unlawful nature against the sovereignty of the State of Alabama, and which may be detrimental to the peace and dignity of the State of Alabama.")
