- Attorneys Fred L. Banks, Reuben Anderson, John A. Nichols, and Melvyn Leventhal started the first interracial law firm in Mississippi in the early 1970s. These photographs were taken by Jim Peppler, who worked as a photographer for the LDF from about 1966 to 1985.
