- Biography:
- An African American physician in Louisville, Kentucky, who worked with the Red Cross Hospital, the African American hospital in the community. Young, son of C. Milton Young, Sr. and Annie Young, was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and educated at Pearl High School, Fisk University, and Meharry Medical School. He worked as a school physician at Louisville Municipal College and medical director at the Central Louisville Health Center. Young also served as the assistant director of Louisville's City Health Department. His wife Hortense Houston Young was the first African American woman admitted to the University of Louisville Law School. His son C. Milton Young (born 1930) is also a physician.
