- African American civil rights worker and Baptist minister. Woods was a charter member of the Alabama Christian Movement, served as director for the Miles College Voter Registration Project, and was the president of the Birmingham SCLC. He led the first department store sit-in in Birmingham and helped plan the March on Washington.
