- Biography:
- Ralph Edward Washington was a twenty-four year old receptionist pathology assistant at St. Louis County Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri when he was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi for his participation in a Freedom Ride. As part of the Freedom Ride, Washington and two others took an airplane from St. Louis, Missouri to Jackson, Mississippi where they were arrested in the Jackson Municipal Airport on 7 June 1961.
