- Theresa Edwards Walker was a thirty-three year old housewife when she was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi for her participation in the Freedom Rides. As part of the Freedom Ride, Walker took a bus from Montgomery, Alabama to Jackson, Mississippi where she was arrested at the Trailways terminal in Jackson, Mississippi on 21 June 1961. Walker was the wife of fellow Freedom Rider, Wyatt Tee Walker.
