- Latina social activist. Member of the Catholic social action group Young Christian Students who took part in the formation of Students for a Democratic Society. From 1963 to 1968, she worked with SNCC as a photographer and as director of the Selma Literacy Program. She continued her social activism as part of the Chicano/a Movement.
