- Biography:
- Lawrence Triss, Jr. was a twenty-eight year old student at University of California, Berkeley when he was arrested for his participation in the Freedom Rides. As part of the Freedom Ride Triss rode on the Illinois Central Railroad from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi where he was arrested with nearly a dozen others on 20 June 1961.
