- Biography:
- He was one of a few African Americans to make a mark in western rodeo history. He worked as a homesteader at Arimo prior to moving to Pocatello in 1919. Thompson worked on the railroads of Idaho in the winter months and spent the summer months riding in the rodeo circuit. Thompson was killed in a riding accident in Bozeman, Montana in 1930.
