- Biography:
- Ernest Seeman was born in 1887 in Durham, North Carolina. He and his father ran Seeman Printery until 1923. In 1925, he was hired as the head of Duke Press, where he worked until 1934. After leaving Duke for his reputation as a radical on campus, Seeman lived in New York before settling in Tumbling Creek, Tennessee. His novel American Gold was published just before his death in 1979.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
