- Biography:
- African American civil rights activist whos served as the NAACP's Field Director for Florida from 1951 to 1966. In 1966 he began to head the Southeast Regional Civil Rights section of the Office of Equal Opportunity in Atlanta. He served as Chief of the Office of Civil Rights until 1970 and as Chief of the Office of Human Rights from 1970 to 1976. From 1976 to 1987 he served as the Director of the HIllsborough County Office and Equal Opportunity. For more information, see Robert W. and Helen S.
