- Biography:
- Civil rights activist, attorney, political strategist, president of the Cleveland School Board from 1971 to 1978, and Cleveland mayoral candidate in 1971 and 1975. Pinkney worked on a number of political campaigns including Hubert Humphrey's presidential campaign in 1972, Carl Stokes' 1967 successful run to become Cleveland's first Black mayor, Carl Stokes Louis Stokes' 1968 election as the first Black Ohio Congressman, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson's bid for the 1984 Democratic Presidential nomination.
