- Biography:
- Philip Jonathan Perkins was a twenty year old student attending Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio when he was arrested for his participation in the Freedom Rides. Perkins was arrested in the Illinois Central terminal in Jackson, Mississippi on 9 July 1961 after he and eight others participated in a Freedom Ride from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi.
