- Biography:
- Hammett Pearson was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina, February 1, 1895. He was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People branch in Clarendon County. He was also one of the original petitioners in the Clarendon County school case which led to the 1954 United States Supreme Court decision.
