- Assistant Northern Coordinator for SNCC in the Atlanta office. "Retired professor of sociology of the City College Center for Worker Education and a retired dean of multicultural affairs of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is the author of The Rising Song of African American Women (1994), a volume that includes “Ella’s Daughters” and “Origins: The Roots of the Black Feminist Intelligentsia,” two essays that focus on women and SNCC. An Afro-Christian scholar, she is currently writing Faith Confronts Evil, a study of African American Christian women"--Hands on the Freedom's Plow.
