A resident of Noblesville, Indiana, as a Twenty-one-year old Central State College student, William Carl Mahoney joined the Freedom Ride from Nashville to Jackson, Mississippi in Montgomery, Alabama on May 28, 1961. Myers would work as a photographer, editor, and reporter at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio from 1973 to 2002.
