- Biography:
- Raised in the Delta, Frank E. Moorer moved to Holly Springs, Mississippi to attend college at Rust College in the late 1950s. While in Holly Springs, Moorer became active in the local civil rights movement and in the effort to educate and register African American voters in Mississippi. He later went on to earn a doctorate in American Studies from University of Iowa and published Richard Wright: A Collection of Critical Essays. Moorer is currently a professor of humanities at Alabama State University.
