- Biography:
- "Neil McGill was born on November 24, 1913, in Raeford, North Carolina. Soon after his birth the family moved to Charlotte, and there he graduated from Central High School. During World War II McGill served in Naval Intelligence. He was discharged from the Intelligence Division as a Senior Grade Lieutenant in 1946 and began managing the Carolina Theaters in Greensboro and Charlotte. He was present when the theaters moved from segregated services to integrated services. McGill eventually retired from the Plitt Theaters Group, owners of the two theaters where he worked. He was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club and Charlotte's First Presbyterian Church.
