Biography:
Civil rights activist. Cown worked with CORE and SNCC in Savannah, Georgia and with the SCLC in Atlanta. In 1967, he and his family moved to Hancock County, Georgia. He served as the executive director of the Georgia Council on Human Relations and founded the East Central Committee for Opportunity in 1970.
