Biography:

Luckett was born on October 28, 1905 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He entered the University of Mississippi in 1923 and graduated from law school in 1928. Luckett began his law practice in Greenwood, Mississippi. In 1932, he accepted an offer to join a firm in Clarksdale and practiced law there until shortly before his death in 1987. Luckett was active in community and civic affairs. He was chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee of Coahoma County for many years.
