- Biography:
- Montgomery, Alabama civil rights activist and politician. Lewis was a founding member of the Montgomery Improvement Association. He co-founded the Alabama Democratic Conference, served as the first president of the Montgomery County Democratic Conference, 2nd Congressional District of the Democratic Conference. From 1976 to 1977, he represented the 77th District in the Alabama House of Representatives.
