- Biography:
- Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Allan Levine, a rabbi, was living in Bradford, Pennsylvania when he was arrested for his participation in the Freedom Rides during the summer of 1961. In addition to participating in an Interfaith Freedom Ride from Washington, D.C. to St. Petersbug, Florida on June 13 through June 16, Levine also took part in a Freedom Ride from San Francisco, California to Jackson, Mississippi where he and eight others were arrested in the Jackson airport 21 July 1961.
