- Biography:
- Timothy Lionel Jenkins was born on December 30, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jenkins studied political science and philosophy at Howard University and went on to graduate from Yale Law School. Following his graduation from law school, Jenkins joined the civil rights movement and moved to Mississippi where he worked to establish Freedom Schools and was an active member of SNCC. He was later appointed by President Jimmy Carter as Chairman of the Corporate Responsibility Committee for the United States Postal Service.
