- Biography:
- Rutha Mae Harris was one of the original Freedom Singers in Albany Georgia. She, along with Bernice Johnson Reagon, Cordell Reagon, and Charles Nesbett formed the SNCC Freedom Singers. She later joined Bernice Johnson Reagon as part of Sweet Honey in the Rock. Harris describes her experiences in Hands on the Freedom Plow.
