- Biography:
- Jesse J. Harris was a twenty-four year old student at Howard University when he was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi for his participation in a Freedom Ride. As part of the Freedom Ride, Harris took a bus from Montgomery, Alabama to Jackson, Mississippi where he was arrested, along with thirteen others, at the Trailways terminal on 2 June 1961.
