- Born on January 10, 1940, Del Greenblatt was a student studying medieval history at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York when she was arrested for her participation in the Freedom Rides. As part of the Freedom Ride, Greenblatt, along with four others, took a train from Nashville, Tennessee to Jackson, Mississippi where they were arrested in the Illinois Central terminal on June 9, 1961.
