- Biography:
- Howard Fuller workd as one of the student volunteers of with the North Carolina Fund in Durham, North Carolina, during the early 1960s. In 1968, he helped establish the Malcolm X Liberation University in Durham. After the University's decline, he moved to Wisconsin, where he served as the superintendent for the Milwaukee public schools from 1991 to 1995. In 1995, Fuller resigned and founded the Institute for the Transformation of Learning (ITL) at Marquette University to provide assistance to charter schools.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
