- Biography:
- William Fonville grew up in Savannah, Georgia, where his father owned Savannah Pharmacy on West Broad Street. After his father's murder in 1955 and his grandfather's death the following year, Fonville's aunt assumed leadership of the business and Fonville helped by delivering prescriptions.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
