- Biography:
- Chairman of the Harlem branch of the Progressive Labor Movement in 1964 and founder of the A. Philip Randolph Labor Council. In 1964, Epton was charged criminal anarchy by the state of New York for a speech given during with 1964 Harlem race riots. Epton became the first person to convicted of criminal anarchy since the Red Scare of 1919.
