- "Herman G. Enochs, Jr. was born in Hickory, North Carolina, on May 20, 1929. He received a B.A. from Guilford College in 1952 and an LLB from the University of North Carolina Law School in 1956. Enochs served as senior judge of the Municipal-County Court in Greensboro in the 1960s. During this time he presided over court sessions involving civil rights protests. He announced his retirement from judgeship and intentions to enter private practice in 1972.
