- Biography:
- Jessie James Davis was a nineteen year old graduate of Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi when he was arrested for his participation in a sit-in at the Trailways bus terminal in Jackson, Mississippi on 9 July 1961. Following his arrest Davis remained active in the civil rights movement by working as a SNCC organizer during the 1960s.
