- Biography:
- Pat Cusick (1931-2004) is a social activist, who credits his educational and military experiences for altering his views on race. While a student at the University of North Carolina, he participated in civil rights demonstrations as part of the anti-war Student Peace Union. After moving to Boston, Massachusetts, he engaged in social and economic justice endeavors. After Massachusetts enacted a policy in 1988 against gay adoption, Cusick publicly came out as a gay man.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
