- Biography:
- Clyde Cook moved to Badin, North Carolina, in 1916 when his father took a job at the Alcoa Aluminum Company. Cook attended segregated company schools and began working for Alcoa when he was 16, working for Alcoa for most of his working life. In the 1970s, Cook served as president of the Stanly County branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
