- African American woman arrested July 20, 1965 along with Mary Kate Fishe Bell, Lena Turner and Gloria Wise for standing in the "white" line at the polling place in Americus, Georgia. She and the other three women were ordered released by federal judge W. A. Bootle on July 31. The Americus city directory of 1966 lists Joseph R. Campbell, pastor at Allen's Chapel, as being married to "Mamie P."
