- Biography:
- "William Daniel Caffrey, born November 5, 1928, was a native of Morehead City, North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University in 1950 and his master's degree from George Washington University in 1954. Caffrey came to Greensboro to teach at the Aycock School, where he was later promoted to assistant principal. He served as principal at the Caldwell School, then left secondary education in 1964 to enroll in the Duke University School of Law. After completing law school in 1967, he became a partner at the law firm of Nichols, Caffrey, Hill, Evans & Murrelle in Greensboro. Caffrey served as counsel for the Greensboro Board of Education for over twenty years. He also served on the board of trustees at Greensboro College and as president of the local Civitans Club.
