David Belton was the brother of Mattie Belton DeLaine. David lived with his family, Cheryll and Helen, in Winnsboro, South Carolina in 1956 where David worked for the South Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. In a 1956 letter to his sister Mattie and her family in New York, David pledges his family will join DeLaine's church in Buffalo, New York, as honorary members.
